Roles and permissions

What organisation owners, admins and members can do in UQ Planner, how project membership works, and who can invite people, manage settings and buy Pro.

Organisation roles

Every person in an organisation has exactly one of three roles:

  • Owner — one per organisation; the person who created it (ownership can be handed over). Can do everything, including deleting the organisation.
  • Admin — runs the organisation day to day: members, invitations, settings, projects, workflows, templates and billing.
  • Member — does the work: tasks, comments and docs in the projects they belong to.

You can belong to several organisations with a different role in each. Switch between them with the organisation switcher; your role is shown next to each name.

Project membership

Projects have their own member list, managed by organisation Owners and Admins from the project's members view (Add an organization member, or remove one). A Member sees and works only in the projects they have been added to; Owners and Admins see every project. Removing someone from the organisation also removes them from all of its projects.

Changing roles and removing people

  • Open Members in the sidebar. Use the role dropdown on a member to change it, or Remove.
  • The Owner can't be removed. To hand over the organisation, the Owner sets another member's role to Owner; the previous Owner becomes an Admin automatically.
  • Removing someone takes effect immediately. Their tasks and comments stay where they are.

API keys and agents

An API key — and therefore the CLI or an AI agent using it — acts as you: it sees your projects and has exactly your permissions, nothing more. There are no separate scopes. Treat the key like a password, and regenerate it if it leaks. See the CLI for AI coding agents.

Still stuck?

Email hello@uniqtech.dev with what you tried and, if it is about a task, its key (for example PRO-13). Pro organisations are answered first. Billing questions: see Contact.
